About Tinuke

Hi, everyone! My name is Tinuke Oyefule and I'm an educator and performing artist. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and brought up by Jamaican and Nigerian parents.

While working as a classroom teacher in Philadelphia, I learned about the importance of connecting with my students through storytelling to foster empathy and to build connections. I like to utilize the performing arts as a bridge in a variety of learning spaces and to help individuals develop a sense of creativity on and off the stage.

I've appeared on television and have been a member of SAG-AFTRA since 2011. A few of my past credits include the boot camp episodes for the X Factor USA, The Young and the Restless, and All My Children.

Past independent projects include co-hosting The Angled Podcast with my friend Alli Nurthen, who is a wedding photographer and Syracuse University alumna.

I have also been the lead singer and primary songwriter for an acoustic soul band called F.R.E.S.H. based in Paris, France since 2016. The band still meets regularly for reunion concerts and we are currently completing our first E.P.
